Chapter 1
The day before the birthday
‘I cannot believe it, it is the day before my birthday!’ Kate thought,’ I wonder if there are any surprises for me today…………
“Yes, yes of course I want them!” Kate screamed when her mother had asked if she wanted two guinea pigs.
So the next thing Kate knew she was at home choosing names, (they are girls) and she ended up with Sophie and Hayley.
So Kate started loving guinea pigs and started to be very protective of them even with her friends.
Whenever she had a party she would always show her friends her guinea pigs. Like always, her friends would look in awe and keep saying I wish, I wish, I wish I could have one.
So Kate grew up loving and caring for her guinea pigs as if they were her own children.
She was so, so, so happy when she got them for her fourth birthday.
She was also very grateful to her mum and dad for getting them and always has been.
Chapter 2
The first death
So when Kate reached year 4 at the age of 9, somewhere near May, some of her mum and dads friends came over with their dogs and Kate loved dogs, as well as guinea pigs.
Well she didn’t know one of the dogs went to the back yard, where the guinea pigs were and tried to pick up Hayley but she died of shock and maybe suffocation.
When Kate found out, she was devastated, she even cried for nearly a whole day.
Chapter 3
The New one
So Sophie got very lonely so later that year, Kate’s friend Jacinta came over and the two and Kate’s mother went to the pet shop to get a new guinea pig.
Kate found exactly what she wanted, a patched 8 week old guinea pig. She was cute you could not disagree with that.
So later on, Patches had three cute baby guinea pigs. We later found out Sophie and Hayley were boys, but Kate did not change their name.
Chapter 4
The second death
When Kate was in year 5, Patches had her second litter of babies, they were adorable, and they are the size of a child’s palm.
Though later they were sold, also later Sophie unfortunately died as guinea pigs only live up to five or six years.
Kate was so sad that two of her guinea pigs had died though she knew she had to move on. So later in the year, Kate bought chocolate and he is a boy.
Chocolate had two litters with patches then got sick.
He went on antibiotics to help him and it did a bit.
Later on, Chocolate was put down by a vet.
It was very sad for Kate but she knew it was for the best.
He died a very peaceful death and she buried him in her backyard with Hayley and Sophie.
The End
Authors Note
Though you can never know what will happen because I do not know and because I am Kate and I am still only in year five. I know can you believe that my guinea pigs were boys! Though the babies all were exceptionally cute and I still have one baby from the third litter Patches had with Chocolate and unfortunately Chocolate was put down.
Sincerely,
Kate McLennan

Some chapters are short but that doesn’t really matter. I think it’s a good, short book.
